Globeducate’s mission is: To prepare each of our students to become a global citizen who can shape the world.

Education for a changing world

As a Globeducate school, we believe that young people will only succeed in the world of tomorrow if they are prepared for the challenges they will face. The world is changing at an incredible pace, and education has to keep up with this constantly evolving environment.

Alongside providing an excellent education, we ensure that our students build character, learn skills, as well as enhance skills beyond the purely academic realm. Unprecedented innovation in science and technology will transform the way we live and the way we work. Our students will need to constantly develop their skills to keep up.

We prepare our students for jobs that have yet to be created, for technologies that have yet to be invented, and to solve problems yet to be anticipated. To navigate such uncertainty, our students must develop creativity, self-confidence, and perseverance; they will need to respect and appreciate the ideas, perspectives, and values of others – and they will need to care about the well-being of their wider communities and the planet.

As educators, we are responsible for laying the foundations for a better future. We prepare each of our students to become global citizens who can shape the world.

Our key principles

Globeducate´s educational vision is based on four fundamental principles: Educational Excellence, Skills and Competencies, Character, and Global Perspectives.

Connecting young minds and spirits for a global perspective

The world is changing at an incredible pace, and education has to keep up with this constantly shifting environment. Our students can only succeed in tomorrow´s world if they are well prepared for the challenges they will face in their future professional and personal lives. In addition to providing an excellent academic education, we ensure that our students develop skills and abilities beyond the purely academic and lay down a solid, values-based foundation for life.

Our Globeducate Agenda

Globeducate has developed a Global Agenda to bring our vision to life in classrooms. Through partnerships with WWF and Eco-Schools, we can fulfil our mission to address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

As educators at Globeducate, we have the opportunity and responsibility to lay the foundations for a better future and this begins with a robust response to the pace of change we see in the world and to the approach we take to sustainability education.

We partner with WWF to offer a varied calendar of awareness-raising online and in-person events. Delivering sustainability education means our students drive change.

Our unique global partnership with leading conservation charity WWF sees us collaborating across our school network, impacting on the education of more than 40,000 young people each year. With the WWF having played a key role in identifying the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, it is a natural partnership for Globeducate. “It is truly inspiring to see the huge amount of work Globeducate schools around the world do to prioritise sustainability and work for the good of the planet. Their imaginative ideas show the passion and commitment there is across the network and it is clear that Globeducate are inspiring and empowering a wave of young environmental leaders.” Sophie Peckham, WWF-UK Schools Fundraising Manager.

Eco-Schools is the world´s largest sustainability education programme. Globeducate schools are all committed to being certified Eco-Schools.

Across our network, our students and teachers find inspiring and innovative ways to take action and make impact, and to mark globally recognised events such as Earth Hour.

These days unite our whole Globeducate family as our students and teachers from across different age groups and cultures share their successes and challenges.

At the heart of our Globeducate vision — we prepare students to be global citizens who can shape the world — lies our commitment to equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary to make their own impact on the future.

• Globeducate Agenda (Collaborative learning enables hands-on play, sparking curiosity and creativity in our youngest students.WWF, Eco-Schools, Debates).

• Real-life, curriculum-aligned projects to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Advanced learning opportunities for older students through coding and robotics. Mentoring younger students.

Science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics play a crucial part in every young Globeducate student´s learning journey. We work with LEGO ® Education and, in our ICS schools, Arts International, to support our STEAM Programme.

Globeducate schools across the world join together for a series of annual international events.

Throughout the year, Globeducate regularly organises events and invites students and teachers from across our network to attend or, where possible, participate remotely.

Our events are organised into three areas:

• Globeducate Events (Seven global events).

• Globeducate Agenda (WWF, Eco-Schools, Debates).

• Globeducate Learning Communities (Outdoor Learning, Reading, STEAM).
